Every once in a while, I like to share a little behind-the-scenes update — not just about the animals, the garden, or the honeybees, but about where this whole adventure is headed. If you’ve been following along with J & J Homestead for a while, you know that what started as a passion for simple living has turned into something much bigger than we ever imagined.

Since officially starting J & J Homestead LLC, we’ve been steadily growing our online presence — from our website and blog, to sharing daily life on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and even YouTube. Each platform has helped us connect with so many of you — fellow homesteaders, gardeners, and dreamers who love the land, the animals, and the quiet moments of purpose that homesteading brings.

But here’s the surprise…

Something new is coming this fall — and it’s something we’re so excited to share!

Introducing“Talking with Chickens” — Our New Podcast!

Starting in November, you’ll be able to tune into Talking with Chickens on Spotify (and other major platforms). This will be a weekly podcast where we talk about real homesteading life — the triumphs, the lessons, and yes, even the chaos that sometimes comes with muddy boots, quacking ducks, and early morning chores.

Each episode will feature genuine conversations about what it means to live a homesteading lifestyle in today’s busy world. You’ll hear personal stories from our daily life here at the homestead — from garden wins and chicken mischief to beekeeping adventures — along with helpful “how-tos” and practical advice for those just beginning their own journey.

Our goal is to make “Talking with Chickens” feel like sitting down for a cup of coffee with a friend — chatting about life, learning, and all the unexpected moments that make this lifestyle so rewarding.

As we head into fall and winter, this podcast will be our big focus. While the garden slows and the animals settle in for the colder months, we’ll be busy behind the scenes planning for something even bigger: the grand opening of our farm stand next spring and summer! Fresh eggs, seasonal vegetables, local honey, and maybe even a few homemade treats — it’s all part of what’s to come.
