Every community has a tradition that brings people together, and here in the Fredericksburg, Virginia area, the Fredericksburg Agricultural Fair is one of those events that generations of families look forward to every single year.

One of my favorite things about the Fredericksburg Agricultural Fair is that there truly is something for everyone.
Young children can enjoy petting zoos and carnival rides.Teenagers often spend hours exploring the midway with friends, enjoying tractor pulls or the demolition derby. Parents appreciate the live entertainment, exhibits, and local vendors. Grandparents enjoy seeing traditions that have remained largely unchanged for decades. It is one of those rare events where every generation finds something they enjoy. Instead of everyone staring at a phone, families spend the day making memories together.
Inspiration for Homesteaders
Every year I leave agricultural fairs with new ideas. Sometimes it’s a new gardening technique. Sometimes it’s discovering a breed of chicken or goat I hadn’t considered before.
